Non-tariff barriers (NTBs) are not an issue in STP.  The country has no quantitative restrictions, economy-related prohibitions, or tariff-quotas. Since STP is not a member of the WTO, it does not benefit from key WTO agreements, in particular, the Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measure (SPS) Agreement and Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) agreements. Product loading and unloading may take some time due to port size limitations, obsolete equipment and procedures.
