Imported products must comply with labeling and marking requirements issued by Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO), Importers are responsible for informing foreign suppliers of any applicable labeling and marking requirements. All labels must either be in Arabic or have a stick-on label in Arabic. Nutritional labeling is mandatory in certain categories of food, including infant formula and food for dietary use. In general, the label should contain the name of the product, the manufacturer’s name and address, net weight, fortifying matter, lot number and best before date. TA food shipment may be rejected based on ambiguous labeling content. For information on food labeling and packaging, contact JSMO and Jordan Ministry of Health.
