Since its creation in 1990, the SABIT program has worked with many countries, industries, and skilled professionals to achieve its goal of facilitating market growth and fostering economic partnerships. SABIT has been especially active over the years in the following regions.

Eurasia and Central Asia

SABIT’s programs in this region include business leaders and entrepreneurs from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

SABIT has a well-established presence in this region and has implemented programs here for over three decades. Popular programs in this region include Airport Administration, Business and Association Development, Energy and Electricity Industries, Food and Dairy Processing and Packaging, Hospital Administration, Transportation and Logistics, and Tourism Management.

The countries of Eurasia have experienced tremendous growth and development over the last thirty years. As former Soviet republics, these countries are emerging free-market economies. The region’s economic characteristics include a well-educated and well-trained workforce, a solid industrial base, and rich natural resources. As a whole, Eurasia holds extensive potential for growth, benefitting trade partners including the United States.

South Asia

In 2009 SABIT added South Asia programming to its portfolio, working with business professionals from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Past SABIT Programs in this region include Agribusiness, Energy & Electricity Transmission, Port Logistics, Tourism Development, and Waste Management.

Europe

SABIT has expanded to Europe and implement programs for Greenland, Serbia, and Kosovo. Working with Greenlandic delegations consisting of tourism professionals, government officials, and local community leaders, SABIT will leverage the experience of communities in the United States which have created a robust tourism industry to provide Greenlandic participants new perspectives on the tourism industry.
