Prohibited and Restricted Imports

The First Schedule to the Customs (List of Prohibited and Restricted Imports and Exports) Order, 2009 provides a list of prohibited and restricted goods.

Prohibited imports to Barbados include:

  • Counterfeit coins
  • Food unfit for human consumption
  • Indecent or obscene articles
  • Infected cattle
  • Prepared opium
  • Fictitious stamps
  • Toy guns
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables grown in or conveyed from Florida except if accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate
  • Ozone-depleting substances (HS Ex 29.03)
  • Goods banned by any other law of Barbados

Restricted imports:

  • Arms and ammunition
  • Cannabis sativa
  • Spirits and wines not bottled or in containers of less than 9 gallons
  • Tobacco, cigars, cigarettes, and cigarillos, unless in whole and complete packages
  • Tobacco extracts and essences
  • Goods bearing the Royal Arms of Great Britain
  • Goods imported as ship’s or aircraft’s stores except for the consumption of passengers and crew
  • Ozone-depleting substances (HS Ex 29.03)
  • Refrigerant blends (HS Ex 38.24)
  • Goods restricted by any other law of Barbados.
