Turkey Events - Small Modular Reactor Forum
The Small Modular Reactor Forum will feature sustainable energy strategies using small modular reactor (SMR) technology in the United States, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. The Forum will highlight the utility of SMR technology in power generation diversification, feature new technological developments in the U.S. and Europe, and provide insights regarding regulations, standards, and financing. U.S. companies will also present their innovative SMR technologies and discuss ways in which their technology may serve the energy needs of the region.
Featuring participation from influential government officials from all five countries and the private sector, the Forum will chart a course towards a more sustainable and energy-secure future.
Dates: April 5-6, 2022
Time: 7-10:30 AM Eastern Time (US) / 14-17:30 Turkey
About SMR Technology
Small modular reactors are a key part of the United States’ goal to develop safe, clean, and affordable nuclear power options. SMRs can vary in size from tens of megawatts up to 300 megawatts and can be used for power generation, process heat, desalination, or other industrial uses. SMRs offer many advantages, such as relatively small physical footprints, reduced capital investment, ability to be sited in locations not possible for larger nuclear plants, and provisions for incremental power additions. SMRs also offer distinct safeguards, security, and nonproliferation advantages. Learn more about SMR technology here.
