WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Acting Under Secretary for International Trade Diane Farrell and Brazilian Secretary of Foreign Trade Dr. Lucas Ferraz held a meeting to discuss the upcoming (Oct. 22) U.S.-Brazil Commercial Dialogue Plenary, which they will co-chair. During their meeting, Acting Under Secretary Farrell and Secretary Ferraz focused on the goals and themes for the 2021 Commercial Dialogue, which included discussion of good regulatory practices, standards & conformity assessment, trade facilitation, the digital economy, and intellectual property rights. They agreed to a forward-looking agenda that is responsive to the U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum’s joint recommendations and would seek to address climate issues. They also discussed longer-term plans and priorities for the Commercial Dialogue as well as the planned 2022 U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum.
