Assistant Secretary Venkataraman to Promote U.S. Technology and Innovation in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar

WASHINGTON – From December 8-14, 2023, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets and Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, Arun Venkataraman, will travel to Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar to deepen the United States’ commercial relationship in the region and collaborate with the public and private entities to build partnerships that enhance the competitiveness of U.S. digital and clean energy technology.
From December 10-11, the Assistant Secretary will be in Amman, Jordan, to meet with Jordanian officials to deepen the bilateral trade and investment relationship. From December 11-12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Assistant Secretary Venkataraman will host both U.S. and Saudi companies at a green economy roundtable about commercial opportunities in environmental preservation, sustainable tourism infrastructure, and the sectors being advanced through the Middle East Green Initiative.
Lastly, from December 13-14 in Doha, Qatar, Assistant Secretary Venkataraman will announce a Strategic Trade and Investment Memorandum of Agreement with the U.S.-Qatar Business Council that further builds on our work together and shared interest in bilateral commercial relations. He will also meet with the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H.E. Mohammed Ali al-Mannai, to advance bilateral collaboration in the digital technologies sphere, and Minister of Commerce and Industry, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Abdullah Al Thani to advance U.S.-Qatari trade priorities.
