Saudi Arabia New Copyright Classifications

The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) announced the inclusion of new subject matter in the Kingdom’s optional copyright registration service. Creative works that can now be registered at SAIP include artistic and applied artistic works, photographic works, graphic works, and stereoscopic topographic works, in addition to computer software and apps, and architectural designs that were included in SAIP pilot copyright registration service.

U.S. firms interested or individuals looking to register can do so via the official SAIP Website.  Applicants must choose the field of intellectual property, fill in the required data, attach the documents needed to register in accordance with the conditions, and pay the fees required for the completion of the registration and examination procedures.
