Internship in Türkiye

The U.S. Commercial Service in Türkiye offers internship opportunities throughout the year in Ankara and Izmir.

What will you be doing?

The U.S. Commercial Service assists U.S. companies entering the Turkish market and helps Turkish firms in their efforts to profit from their alliances with American companies either by representing American manufacturers, utilizing American products, or through joint venture arrangements. To support these objectives, interns will assist in office analyses of information on the Turkish market, facilitation of contacts with Turkish businesses, promotion of US products in the Turkish marketplace, and advocation of US business interests.

Interns assist our trade specialists by:

  • Helping with their market research
  • Assisting companies seeking information
  • Organizing trade missions
  • Organization of and participation in commercial events
  • Administrative work

Eligibility

In order to participate in this program you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a school
  • Fluency in both Türkçe and English
  • Availability for at least 2 months (40 hr/week during summer time or at least 2 full days/week during semester time)
  • Good communication, writing, and computer skills
  • Mandatory Requirement by the School
  • Social Security Procedures must be completed by the School
  • Students of Business Administration, Business Management, International Trade, Business Information Management, International Relations, Economics, Law, and Languages will benefit most from an internship at the Commercial Service.

Selection is made without regard to considerations of race, color, religion, sex, marital status, or handicap. Every intern has to receive a positive security check from the U.S. Government prior to the start of an internship.

Payment

This internship is a volunteer service. Federal regulations prohibit financial compensation. An official letter of recommendation will be provided. Most universities will award 3-6 credits for a completed internship.

Insurance

No Federal Government liability is assumed. Students are responsible for their own health and life insurance.
