On December 29, 2020, the Department of Commerce (Commerce) announced its affirmative preliminary determination in the countervailing duty (CVD) investigation of certain chassis and subassemblies thereof (chassis) from China.

Imports of chassis and subassemblies thereof enter under HTSUS subheadings that cover subject and non-subject merchandise; therefore, the import data may be overstated. The petitioner estimated the 2019 import value of chassis from China at $250 million.

The petitioners are Insteel Industries Inc. (Mount Airy, NC), Mid-South Wire Company (Nashville, TN), National Wire LLC (Conroe, TX), Oklahoma Steel & Wire Co. (Madill, OK), and Wire Mesh Corp. (Houston, TX).
