On August 20, 2020, the Department of Commerce (Commerce) announced the initiation of antidumping duty (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations of certain chassis and subassemblies thereof (chassis) from China.

The table above includes only import value data because volume data are reported using differing units of measure. Imports of chassis and subassemblies thereof enter under HTSUS subheadings that cover subject and non-subject merchandise; therefore, the import data may be overstated. The petitioner estimated the 2019 import value of chassis from China at $250 million.

The petitioner is the Coalition of American Chassis Manufacturers, whose members are Cheetah Chassis Corporation (Fairless Hills, PA), Hercules Enterprises, LLC (Hillsborough, NJ), Pitts Enterprises, Inc. (Pittsview, AL), Pratt Industries, Inc. (Bridgman, MI), and Stoughton Trailers, LLC (Stoughton, WI).

Since the beginning of the Trump Administration, Commerce has initiated 286 new AD and CVD investigations - this is a 267 percent increase from the comparable period in the previous administration.
