Temporary entry is permitted for goods that will be used temporarily in Mozambique and then exported. In addition, goods in transit are exempt from customs duties. Such procedures work reasonably well at the ports of Beira and Nacala for shipments destined to Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. As the procedures are not frequently used for goods entering through Maputo Port, gaining the exemption can be complicated and time consuming there.
