Protecting Intellectual Property
Last published date:

In March 2004, the Croatian Parliament ratified a comprehensive bilateral Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Croatia on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights. In general, intellectual property is well-protected in Croatia and there are several highly capable local law offices specialized in IPR protection available to U.S. exporters. For contact details, please e-mail the U.S. Commercial Service office at: office.zagreb@trade.gov.

In any foreign market, companies should consider several general principles for effective protection of their intellectual property. For background, link to our article on Protecting Intellectual Property and Stopfakes.gov for more resources (such as the EU IPR Toolkit).

To access the Croatia Investment Climate Statement, which includes information on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, visit the U.S. Department of State Investment Climate Statement website.
