Since joining the EU in 2007, Bulgaria has been a member of the EU Customs Union. Most Bulgarian Customs provisions have been replaced with EU regulations. EU products enter Bulgaria free of tariffs, which is why U.S. products are often not price competitive. Tariff rates for imports from countries outside the EU range from 4 percent to 45 percent. For more information, see TARIC, the integrated Tariff of the EU.
To look up specific duties and tariffs use, use the Customs Info Database tariff look-up tool, available on trade.gov (free registration required), to estimate duties and taxes.
