Numerous U.S. food and beverage (F&B) franchises operate in Brunei. Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and Dairy Queen are very popular in Brunei. Starbucks and Burger King entered the market in 2014 and have expanded to four and six outlets respectively. The franchise industry is also popular among investors because it is perceived to be an attractive and relatively safe form of investment. American burger franchise Wayback Burgers opened in May 2016.
