Alternatives
Alternatives
An alternative investment is an asset that is not one of the conventional investment types, such as stocks, bonds, and currencies. Most “alternatives” are held by institutional or accredited limited investors because of the complex nature and limited regulations of the investment. Alternatives include, but are not limited to private equity, venture capital, infrastructure, and real estate. Global investors invest into these types of alternatives, and then the U.S. firm receives the investment (maturity can be up to 10 years) into their current fund and receives a management fee.
