U.S. Commercial Service Helps Michigan Firm Find Success in Portugal

Redi-Rock International, a Michigan-based manufacturer of concrete forms used for creating retaining walls, contacted the U.S. Commercial Service (CS) for assistance with evaluating international markets and finding foreign buyers. CS Grand Rapids worked closely with the manufacturer to identify Portugal as a growth market for their construction products.

As part of their market entry strategy, Redi-Rock utilized the CS Gold Key Service and as a direct result of the matchmaking services provided by CS Lisbon, the company developed an exclusive licensing agreement with a precast cement manufacturer in Portugal. An initial payment of $73,000 was completed in April 2021 and additional future sales are anticipated for 2021 and beyond.

Redi-Rock has experienced continued growth across the globe and in 2020, they were awarded the President’s E-Award for excellence in exporting.
