MDCP U.S. Firms Connect to Buyers Abroad
Connecting to the International Aerospace Supply Chain
At England’s Farnborough Airport 1500 exhibitors and 80,000 attendees from around the world convened for one of the aerospace industry’s biggest trade events. MDCP cooperator Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI) was there to help U.S. companies get connected with buyers in the international supply chain.
In addition to a $300,000 MDCP award, ITA showed its support on the tradeshow floor. Under Secretary for International Trade Marisa Lago, center, discusses export goals with two executives of an Ohio-based aerospace manufacturer. Companies like Boeing and Airbus often announce deals at Farnborough, but these giants rely heavily on the smaller providers like those that OAI promotes. Farnborough 2020 was the first big trade event for OAI’s MDCP project. Deals take time to solidify. Exports generated from OAI’s Farnborough activity are not likely to register for several months.
