Family-Owned Ohio Manufacturer Completes Sale to Mexico

Established in 1979, Production Plus Corporation, a family-owned business in Ashville, Ohio, is a manufacturer of patented racking systems used for light-duty powder coating applications in a variety of industries, including the automotive sector. The company also uses computer designs to build custom racks for electrophoretic painting (e-coating), plating and heavy-duty powder coating.

The company worked with the U.S. Commercial Service in Cincinnati, which provided market research and invited them to the U.S. Commercial Service signature matchmaking and networking event, Discover Global Markets. During the event, the company was introduced to trade specialists visiting from CS Mexico. The specialists worked after the event with the company to help them exhibit at international trade shows and use the CS Business Facilitation Service. Ultimately the collaboration and combination of services yielded success for the small business.  

As a direct result of CS Cincinnati and CS Mexico collaboration, Production Plus reported a signing a value-added resale agreement with IPS of Mexico, one of the companies from the Mexico City GKS at the Latin American Coatings Show in 2017. This in turn resulted in a purchase by IPS of over $8,000 worth of the U.S. manufacturer’s Magic Rack product line for end-user Phillips lighting facility in Monterrey.
