Enera Power Signs 30 MW electricity contract in Mexico
Enera Power, an international utility-scale solar generation company with solar solutions for landowners, utilities and communities, sought and received assistance from the Commercial Service offices in San Francisco and Mexico (CS) to support their pursuit of renewable energy projects and to access Mexico’s power sector.
After several years of support, including trade counselling, government and client meetings, the Commercial Service organized a 2019 Single Company Promotion for EneraPower with large consumers of electricity in Mexico as potential clients. It was Enera Power’s goal to present and hold one-on-one meetings with decision-makers of large hotel chains in Riviera Maya in order to sell their electricity supply service that would enable cost savings and greater operational efficiency.
Enera Power was additionally included in a group of U.S. companies that received support fromthe U.S. Ambassador in Mexico to meet with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in order to share their renewable energy projects in Mexico and input as to market challenges.
As a result of the contacts generated in Mexico from the Single Company Promotion, along with continuous counseling and support from CS San Francisco and CS Mexico, Enera Power secured a 30 MW contract to provide for solar generated electricity, furthering the Mexico’s goal to diversify the energy supply, lower the cost of electricity, and lower its overall carbon footprint.
“Enera found U.S. Commerce Service both professional and very valuable during past work with Mexican administrations. Now, we are excited to move forward with Mexico, with the help of U.S. Commercial Services to navigate this new and exciting phase of commercial clean energy activity in Mexico.”
