Commerce Official to Travel to Colombia to Strengthen Trade Ties in Information and Communications Technology

WASHINGTON – Between Aug. 27 - Sep. 2, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets and Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service Arun Venkataraman will travel to Colombia to represent the United States as Guest Nation at the Andicom regional information and communications technology (ICT) conference and trade show to strengthen technology collaboration between the U.S. and Colombia. In addition to meetings with private sector leaders, Assistant Secretary Venkataraman will also meet with members of the newly inaugurated Petro administration to discuss U.S. and Colombian priorities for the bilateral commercial relationship.

“I am eager to showcase the leadership and innovation of the United States ICT sector to our partners in Colombia, and I look forward to engaging with Colombia’s newly inaugurated leadership to reaffirm the United States’ commitment to a strong, mutually beneficial commercial relationship with Colombia,” said Assistant Secretary Venkataraman on the upcoming visit.
