Assistant Secretary Venkataraman Travels to Singapore to Advance Commercial Partnerships and Collaboration on Emerging Technologies

WASHINGTON – From October 16-17, Arun Venkataraman, the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets and Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, will travel to Singapore, where he will meet with government officials and industry stakeholders to discuss future areas of focus under the U.S.-Singapore Partnership for Growth and Innovation (PGI), and U.S.-Singapore cooperation on critical and emerging technologies following the inaugural U.S.-Singapore Critical and Emerging Technology Dialogue (CET), which took place in Washington, D.C., on October 12.
The Assistant Secretary will also lead a discussion with members of the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council on trade and investment in the energy sector, and highlight the U.S. Department of Commerce’s strong bilateral partnership with Singapore on energy issues under the PGI as well as regionally through the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF).
Assistant Secretary Venkataraman will also participate in a digital symposium organized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore to discuss the dynamics of the current U.S.-Singapore collaboration on critical and emerging technologies and gather industry views on future partnership opportunities as a follow-up to the CET dialogue.
