United Arab Emirates Oil & Gas Market

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is pressing ahead with programs to raise crude production capacity to 5 million barrel per day (bpd) by 2030. On March 11, 2020, ADNOC stated that they are on the right track to increase supply to over 4 million bpd by the beginning of April 2020.

This expanded production  provides opportunities for U.S. oil and gas firms across a wide range of technologies, equipment, machinery, and services, including:

  • New enhanced oil recovery technologies that will help lower operational expenditure and extend the lifespan of producing fields
  • Advanced technologies that provide alternatives to using gas to maintain oil well pressure
  • Drilling equipment and chemicals

U.S. oil and gas companies are strategically positioned as preferred suppliers and contractors for the UAE, though they should expect tough competition from Asian, European and local firms.  To learn more about these opportunities and the UAE’s competitive landscape, please contact the U.S. Commercial Service in Dubai at Office.Dubai@trade.gov.

Additionally, U.S. firms interested in this sector should consider attending the annual Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC), one of the Middle East’s most important energy show and one of the largest energy shows globally.
