Thailand Pet Products

During COVID, the number of pets in Thailand increased, and the market grew 7.2 percent yearly.  Pet owners in Thailand spend an average of $300-$600 per animal each year, and currently, there are more than 3,500 registered animal hospitals nationwide.

Popular pet-related businesses and services in Thailand include pet bathing, pet grooming, pet hotels, and pet spas.  Pet shops and services are found chiefly in shopping malls.  Additionally, substantial sales are made through e-commerce channels.  Live selling of products by influencers on social media is an especially popular marketing technique.

Thailand’s pet market is competitive, and quality pet products are in high demand. Thailand hosts several pet trade shows and contests yearly. We encourage interested exporters to participate in Pet Fair Southeast Asia in October, especially for the show’s business-to-business component.

U.S. exporters who wish to explore these opportunities may contact Ms. Panvipa Chaiyasit at Panvipa.Chaiyasit@trade.gov at U.S. Commercial Service in Thailand.
