Saudi Arabia Procurement Regulations for the Medical Sector
With the passing of Saudi Arabia’s Government(SAG) Tenders and Procurement Law in July 2019, foreign companies will have a clearer understanding of the guidelines that impact the SAG’s procurement process. The Law is intended to guide SAG entities in procuring projects in a transparent, organized, and fair manner, giving equal opportunity to all bidders.
The Saudi National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO), the largest centralized health care procurement, storage, and distribution organization for pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and supplies in Saudi Arabia, is at the forefront of these regulatory changes. NUPCO has entered into cooperative agreements with key Saudi suppliers to unify government procurement and apply international best practices to facilitate and apply these new procurement procedures for the medical sector.
U.S. companies are encouraged to explore projects managed by NUPCO for an extensive array of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and medical supplies.
