Saudi Arabia Mobility Sector

The LINE is a high-profile futuristic city designed to be a part of Neom, a megacity project, located near Tabuk province in the northeastern part of Saudi Arabia. The project involves the construction of a 170-kilometer (106 miles) belt of connected communities without the need for cars or roads and will house more than 1 million people. Described as ‘a revolution in urban living,’ the project is a blueprint for how people can co-exist with the environment.

The LINE will be completely free of cars and streets, with residents given access to nature and all of their daily needs within a walking distance. The team behind the project says that the linear development of hyper-connected artificial intelligence-enabled communities will be powered by 100% clean energy.  The city will be supported by a physical and digital infrastructure layer integrated beneath the surface, containing essential utilities and transportation services.

Located in Neom, the Line links the red seacoast with the mountains and upper valleys of the northwest of Saudi Arabia.

The budget for the project is estimated at $100 billion USD to be constructed over the period of 2021-2035 and will be built along a high-speed rail line running inland from the red seacoast towards Tabuk. It has been designed in direct response to pressing challenges resulting from legacy infrastructure, environmental pollution, and human congestion.

The LINE will power Neom to becomes a hub for innovation where global industry and emerging players can research, incubate, and commercialize groundbreaking technologies to accelerate human progress. The city is to be built from scratch and presents a wealth of opportunities in the mobility, artificial intelligence, energy, and waste management sectors for leading U.S. companies. U.S. suppliers are encouraged to capitalize on these opportunities.
