Saudi Arabia Information Technology “The Garage” – A New Player in Saudi Arabia’s Startup Ecosystem

In September 2023, Saudi Arabia officially unveiled “The Garage”, the newest part of the Kingdom’s thriving startup ecosystem. 

Launched as a collaboration between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, and The Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones, the Garage is located within the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. A former parking structure, the Garage spans 28,000 square meters and accommodates over 300 startup companies. Its facilities boast 24 state-of-the-art meeting rooms, an expansive event space capable of hosting over 1,000 individuals, and dedicated workshop areas.

With a business model combining incubators, accelerators and additional resources into one space, the Garage provides key tools to companies need to succeed and grow. U.S. companies with innovative ideas, agility, customer relationships, reputation for quality, etc. in tech projects are encouraged to sign up for the program at “The Garage” website. Targeted sectors include but are not limited to: SaaS, Fintech, Logistics, Platforms and Solutions for the Food and Beverage Sector, E-Commerce, Entertainment and Sports, Tourism, Robotics, 3D Printing, and more. There is no fee to join the program.
