Peru Infrastructure Opportunities
Peru’s private investment promotion agency ProInversion announced plans to award 40 Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects worth $8 billion throughout 2024. This represents a major opportunity for global investors as Peru undertakes an ambitious infrastructure development agenda. In 2023, ProInversion awarded 14 projects totaling 2.3 billion.
Key projects that could be awarded in the coming months include the $2.4 billion Lima Peripheral Road Ring highway, $405 million Marcona terminal port, $762 million Ancon industrial park, $340 million Huancayo-Huancavelica train, $914 million Stage 4 of the highland highway, among others. ProInversion highlighted that the Lima highway and Marcona port projects could be awarded within 90 days if no other proponent decides to compete for the tenders.
As Peru undertakes this transformative phase of modernizing and expanding its land and sea connectivity, U.S. exporters should consider engaging with ProInversion on the upcoming infrastructure projects.
