Mozambique Infrastructure MCC Opportunities to Support New Bridge Construction in Northern Mozambique

In 2023, the Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Board of Directors approved the $500 million Compact II to provide investment and grants to support economic growth and poverty reduction in Mozambique. The Compact consists of a Connectivity and Rural Transport Project (CTR) which will enhance the quality and climate resilience of major routes in Zambezia by improving roads and bridges and addressing deferred maintenance. A major focus of the CTR project will be the construction of a new 1.8km long bridge and a 16km bypass to link the bridge to the national route.

As a U.S. foreign assistance agency, MCC aims to combat poverty by forming partnerships with developing countries who are committed to good governance, economic freedom and investing in their citizens. Using a country-led approach, MCC provides time-limited grants and assistance towards policy and institutional reforms to developing countries that meet global standards for good governance.

Tenders for Mozambique and other MCC compact markets are published in Millennium Challenge Account Program Procurements. For more information on these specific opportunities, please see the below:
