Mexico Technical Regulations for Vehicle Safety Devices

Mexico’s General Standards Bureau (DGN) is soliciting public comments on PROY-NOM-194-SE-2021 Essential Safety Devices for New Vehicles-Safety Specifications.

This technical regulation establishes important requirements for vehicle safety devices for passenger, light, and autonomous (electric and gas) vehicles sold or imported into Mexico, including mandatory and non-mandatory specifications, conformity assessment procedures, and inspections. Manufacturers of vehicles and vehicle safety devices and other interested stakeholders should review this notice carefully. DGN will accept public comments for 60 days from September 23, 2021 via the following:
