Mexico Customs Portal Glitches and Delays in 2024

On April 22, several chambers and industrial associations reported that the Mexican customs portal experienced delays and latency in processing import documents.

The Ventanilla Única para el Comercio Exterior (Single Window for Foreign Trade) and the regular Mexican Customs System website, where Mexican companies enter documents and certifications to validate the proper entry of goods into Mexican territory, have been experiencing intermittent technical difficulties in 2024 due to updates, resulting in difficulties receiving documents from importers.

This technical situation applies only to Mexican entities and companies with Mexican Tax IDs. We strongly recommend that U.S. exporters maintain close contact with their Mexican clients and partners to stay informed about this situation. It’s important to note that the Mexican government may not always provide a specific timeframe for resolving these issues.

The U.S. Commercial Service in Mexico can assist U.S. exporters in resolving customs-related issues. For further questions on this issue or if you encounter any problems with Mexican Customs, please Ask Manny, contact: Manuel.Velazquez@trade.gov
