Oil and Gas Kuwait Trade Opportunities

Kuwait energy Offshore Oil and Gas Sector

In July 2024, the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) www.kockw.com, announced the discovery of the Al-Nukhatha offshore oil and gas field located east of Kuwait’s Failka Island.  The preliminary estimates of the hydrocarbon reserves at the well are estimated at 2.1 billion barrels of light oil and 5.1 trillion standard cubic feet of gas.  The expected daily production is 2,800 barrels of light oil and twenty-three million cubic feet of associated gas.

In August 2024, KOC started an extensive marine exploration project involving the drilling of six exploratory wells as a first phase and there are plans to explore an additional nine wells in the second phase.  KOC is currently preparing tenders for a high-resolution three-dimensional seismic survey covering the entire marine area (more than 2,300 square miles), and offshore drilling services for early oil and gas production.  To bid on KOC tenders, the U.S. companies should register at the K-Tendering platform www.ktendering.com.kw.
