Hong Kong Hospital Bed Demand

The Hong Kong Government’s policy address highlights a need for increased overall medical capacity aimed at preventing future epidemics. With the increasing need of medical beds in the region, the Hong Kong Government has indicated that around USD 65 million has been earmarked towards two ten-year hospital development plans (2016-2026 and 2026-2036). This plan will provide 15,000 additional hospital beds and more than 90 operating theatres to meet projected service demand by 2036.

The Hospital Authority of Hong Kong is the largest purchaser of medical beds in Hong Kong. Firms interested in this opportunity should examine the Tender Invitation Notices issued by the authority. The below Tender Notices shall be taken as a reference in regulations and requirements:

Supply and Installation of Monitors, Physiologic, Multipurpose, Bedside for Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and Yan Chai Hospital, Hospital Authority
