Croatia Healthcare New Hospital for Children
The first stage of the national children’s hospital development has been completed, including the feasibility study and the project design. The public procurement tender for the construction of the hospital is expected by the end of 2024, and the entire project should conclude in spring 2026. The national children’s hospital will cover the area of 53,000 square meters, will have 781 beds, and will provide a full range of healthcare services for little patients. The estimated value of the project is 225 million euros, not including VAT.
The hospital will use geothermal water for heating and cooling, and 84 percent of the total energy consumption will be generated from renewable sources. According to the Ministry, it will be the first carbon neutral hospital in Europe.
The new hospital will generate demand for pediatric healthcare products and technologies. For more information about the project and the healthcare market in Croatia, please contact office.zagreb@trade.gov.
