CHINA SPORTSWEAR MARKET
China continues to be an attractive market for selling athletic apparel, accessories, and footwear. Multinational sportwear companies have been shifting their operations out of China for some years now because of the rising labor costs, but they see China as a growing and attractive market for selling their products. The sportswear market in China is projected to grow at annual rate of 11% and reach an estimated $82.8 billion by 2024.
This strong growth forecast is driven by China’s growing middle class, estimated to reached 1.2 billion by the end of 2030, and rising consumer disposable income. With the rise of income, growing level of sports specialization, increased health awareness, and diversity of urban fitness options, the sportswear market is growing, broad and attractive.
