CHINA ECOMMERCE SHOPPING HOLIDAYS

Chinese shopping holidays are major drivers of eCommerce sales across all Chinese eCommerce platforms. China’s biggest shopping holiday, Single’s Day (11/11), for example, generates more sales than Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined.

American SME’s can target Chinese shopping holidays to build their online brand and promote their products. With the exception of July, every month has several shopping holidays.

There are over 25 Chinese shopping holidays. The two most prominent shopping holidays in China include Single’s Day (11/11) and 618 (6/18), which generated $139 billion and $89.4 billion in sales last year, respectively.

In addition, there are a number of themed or sector-specific shopping holidays that U.S. companies can target, such as the 99 Wine Festival (9/9) in September, the 418 (4/18) electronic and home appliance holiday in April, and the 12/12 holiday in December, which continues to advertise shopping promotions in the month following Single’s Day (11/11).
