Chile Artificial Intelligence Solutions RFI
On January 24, 2024, Chile’s Subsecretary for the Prevention of Crime issued a request for information for artificial intelligence solutions that will improve public security management, effectively integrate data from various sources, apply advanced algorithms for crime prevention and promote intersectoral collaboration.
Interested parties are asked to present innovate, effective and responsible solutions that respond to the current challenges of public security in Chile through the use of artificial intelligence that ensures respect for ethical and legal principles, and the safeguarding of human rights.
The Government of Chile has taken an active role in developing its approach towards the use of artificial intelligence. Chile hosted the first regional forum on Ethics in Artificial Intelligence in 2023, and Chile’s National Artificial Intelligence Agency (CENIA) is actively partnering with international organizations and corporations to establish a Latin America AI Index to track development metrics in the field of AI across multiple countries. The “Santiago Declaration” was issued following the first Ethics Forum which reflected UNESCO’s Recommendations on Ethical AI and guiding principles, including proportionality, security, fairness, non-discrimination, gender equality, accessibility, sustainability, privacy, and data protection.
The deadline to participate in the Subsecretary’s RFI is January 31, 2024. Please reach out to the U.S. Commercial Service in Chile for additional information on the RFI.
