Canada Government Procurements
The Government of Canada is one of the largest public buyers of goods and services, purchasing over $20 billion annually on behalf of federal departments and agencies. Many of these opportunities are open to U.S. companies, who can compete to win contracts regardless of whether they are based in Canada or the United States.
As the central purchasing agent, Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) frequently posts tender opportunities on Buy and Sell*, an official, free, internet-based electronic tendering service. Companies can regularly visit the active tenders page or set up notifications to alert them of opportunities tailored to their business. Vendors can easily bid on these tenders by registering for a free SAP Ariba account, and acquiring a Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) business number if selected for a contract.
U.S. companies can additionally bid on provincial and territorial tenders, advertised separately on respective procurement websites and systems operated by third-party service providers. These include:
- Ontario: Tenders Portal
- Quebec: Le système électronique d’appel d’offres du gouvernement du Québec (SEAO)
- British Columbia: BC Bid
- Alberta: Alberta Purchasing Connection
- Manitoba: Government Tenders
- New Brunswick: New Brunswick Opportunities Network (NBON)
- Nova Scotia: NS Tenders
- Saskatchewan: SaskTenders
- Prince Edward Island: Tenders
- Newfoundland and Labrador: Public Procurement Agency
For Territories, please visit:
- Northwest Territories: Contract Event Opportunities
- Nunavut: Nunavut Tenders Listing
- Yukon: Bid on a Government Contract
The U.S. Commercial Service stands ready to support U.S. companies in their government procurement pursuits in Canada.
