BEIJING China HYDROGEN MARKET

On April 7, 2021, Beijing released its Hydrogen Industry Development and Implementation Plan for 2021 to 2025. The city plans to build a hydrogen technology innovation demonstration area in northern Beijing, a high-end equipment manufacturing and application demonstration area in southern Beijing, and promote increased synergy for the hydrogen supply chain in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH) Region. 

Business opportunities will exist for U.S. companies to partner with Chinese firms on demonstration projects. 

Areas of opportunity include hydrogen production, energy storage, refilling, and fuel cell battery development.  Demonstration programs will exist in the Daxing International Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Zone and the Future Science City Hydrogen Energy Industry Comprehensive Demonstration Zone in Changping District.  Beijing’s Hydrogen Plan highlights its strategy for combating the climate crisis, potential business opportunities for U.S. hydrogen solutions in the market.
