Next April, the U.S. government’s largest annual trade mission and business development forum is headed to South America. For any U.S. business interested in exploring opportunities across the Western Hemisphere, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
The Trade Winds Forum will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, with additional mission stops in Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina

Columbia - Where Opportunity Meets Strategic Advantage
Columbia’s consumer market is substantial and stands as the fourth-largest economy in Latin America, and its location has mass appeal and offers a wealth of opportunities for businesses in diverse industries—from education to medical devices. The country offers a strategic advantage as a major hub connecting North and South America, making it an ideal gateway for U.S. businesses looking to expand their regional presence. Also, the country has five major commercial hubs in Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Barranquilla, and Cartagena, which sets it apart from many other Latin American markets.

Additionally, extensive infrastructure projects are generating demand for logistics, energy generation, pollution control, security and defense, and other goods and services. Equally important, there is already a robust commercial relationship between the United States and Columbia. Many U.S. products can enter the Colombian market duty free under the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement and last year, U.S. goods and services exports to Colombia were valued at $26.6 billion.

Like any market, Columbia has its complexities, the team at the U.S. Embassy is available to help businesses navigate the opportunities and challenges.
