The National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) now reports more-timely and detailed results of the Survey of International Air Travelers (SIAT).

The SIAT is a primary research program that gathers statistical data (including information on trip planning, travel patterns, demographics, spending, and more) about international air passengers traveling between the United States and Canada, Mexico and overseas countries.

For the first time ever, NTTO has begun publishing SIAT results on a quarterly basis that can be accessed two ways:

The SIAT Inbound Survey Monitor is an interactive data tool that provides salient annual and quarterly SIAT results of overseas visitors (by country and world region) to the United States from Q1 2012 to Q1 2023 (Canada-air and Mexico-air will be added soon).

The SIAT National Reports are annual and quarterly excel reports starting from 2022 that provide additional detail of SIAT results for overseas (by country and world region), Canada-air and Mexico-air visitors.

The data has been collected from the Department of Homeland Security - Customs and Border Protection’s Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) since July 2010. The APIS based “I-92” system provides air traffic data on the following parameters: number of passengers, by country, airport, scheduled or chartered, U.S. Flag, foreign flag, citizens and non-citizens. Visit the APIS/I-92 Data Program home page for more information on airline travel to and from the United States.
