Doron Precision Systems Drives to Success in Poland
Doron Precision Systems, located in Binghamton, New York, creates driving simulation systems used in law enforcement, fire & EMS, commercial trucks, and other driving vehicles. Founded 48 years ago, the company has been involved in exporting since its inception, but the Director of International Sales at Doron felt the company could use help identifying new markets and agents to present additional sales opportunities in the driver training field.
In June of 2021, John Tracy with the U.S. Commercial Service (CS) Syracuse referred him to the USCS’ Rural Export Center (REC). After reviewing the services offered, the company felt RAISE Research would be a perfect fit to grow Doron’s business. The client chose to conduct a Matrix + 3 Country Reports.
Over the next year, Doron worked closely with the REC to build a customized project. As the company filtered the data, they chose six countries to target. The Commercial Specialists in each country were contacted for their thoughts on Doron’s potential in each market. In Poland, U.S. Commercial Specialists immediately connected Doron to a company, which resulted in an international sales agency agreement. After polling the six countries, the company narrowed the research down to the top three markets, and extensive research was conducted on various industries and potential partners in each market.
“The very extensive Matrix, followed by 3 Country Reports was nothing short of fantastic. Throughout the research, companies can customize the project to their needs and exact specifications. There was an amazing amount of research done behind the scenes in this effort. It was a delight to work with the RAISE team throughout the program and be provided with an extensive report that was extremely well presented at the conclusion of the research project. The information provided will be used by Doron, in the coming months, (and years) as we seek to drive up business in world markets for driver training using simulator products designed and manufactured by Doron in rural New York State.” -Graham Upton, Director of International Sales
Doron took advantage of the Small Business Administration’s New York State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) grant, which partially funded the project.
