Industry and Analysis’ Office of Critical Minerals and Metals (OCMM) advances the Department’s mission of strengthening the global competitiveness of U.S. industry by driving policy solutions with industry and analytical insights. OCMM draws from its sectoral experts, economists, and commercial linkages to analyze and assess mineral and metal supply chains, including opportunities and challenges, and drive policy recommendations to advance supply chain resiliency both in the near and long-term. OCMM  supports engagement with stakeholders and international partners to secure mineral and metal supply chains, prevent supply disruptions, and address market challenges. OCMM also provides market intelligence in support of U.S. government domestic and international funding awards, represents the U.S. government in various international mineral and metal study groups, and administers the Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Critical Minerals and Nonferrous Metals (ITAC 5) and the Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Steel (ITAC 11).

Department of Commerce Reporting Requirements Under Section 1502(d)(3)(C) 
of the Dodd-Frank Act: 
World-Wide Conflict Mineral Processing Facilities

As required by section 1502(d)(3)(C) of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank Act), the U.S. Department of Commerce provides Congress with annual listings of all known conflict mineral processing facilities worldwide. OCMM in the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration has been responsible for the preparation of this report for Congress. The 2023 report is at:
