Adam S. Wilczewski was named Chief of Staff at the International Trade Administration (ITA) in May 2011. As Chief of Staff, Adam serves as the top advisor and counselor to the Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade. He plays a key role in managing ITA’s operations, global personnel, and the development and implementation of key economic trade policies for the Administration, such as the National Export Initiative and SelectUSA.
Prior to this post, Adam served as ITA’s Director of the Office of Strategic Partnerships. There, he successfully leveraged corporate and association partners to introduce export advising services to tens of thousands of U.S. small-to-medium sized businesses, helping them to increase sales and create jobs across America.
For fifteen years Adam has served in leadership roles in both the private and public sectors. He served as an Executive Director for Community Counselling Service, a comprehensive and widely recommended fund-raising, consulting, and management firm, raising more than $34 million for national non-profit clients. He’s also been on the management teams for presidential campaigns, including as Chief of Staff at Lieberman for President (’03-’04), Southern Finance Director at Biden for President (’06-’07) and as Deputy Political Director in Florida for Obama for America (’08).
Adam earned a law degree from American University's Washington College of Law as well as a degree in International Relations from the University of Florida. He holds a Certificate in International Mediation from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and is an honorary member of the Polish-American Chamber of Commerce in Chicago.
Adam currently resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife.
