The U.S. government supports U.S. civil nuclear companies both domestically and internationally. There are three offices that support the advancement of U.S. civil nuclear exports. The International Trade Administration is the main federal agency responsible for the advancement of civil nuclear exports, while the U.S. Trade and Development Agency also provides support for the peaceful and safe development of civil nuclear programs. The Department of Energy, Office of Nuclear energy also supports other U.S. Federal agencies in issues related to the international use of civil nuclear energy.
International Trade Administration, Office of Energy and Environmental Industries
The Office of Energy and Environmental Industries (OEEI) coordinates U.S. industry civil nuclear interests abroad, identifies priority civil nuclear markets, and provides trade policy support to different government agencies on civil nuclear issues. The Commercial Services, within the International Trade Administration (ITA), supports U.S. companies through programs and services, and interacting directly with companies exporting directly from the U.S. The Commercial Service is located in offices around the U.S. and in Embassies and Consulates around the world. They interact directly with companies exporting directly from the U.S.
U.S. Trade and Development Agency

Department of Energy, Office of Nuclear Energy
The DOE Office of Nuclear Energy advances nuclear power as a resource capable of meeting the Nation's energy, environmental, and national security needs by resolving technical, cost, safety, proliferation resistance, and security barriers through research, development, and demonstration as appropriate. The DOE Office of Nuclear Energy also engages internationally in support of the safe, secure, and peaceful use of nuclear energy as well as supports other Department offices and other federal agencies on issues related to the international use of civilian nuclear energy.
