Privatization of State-Owned Afghan Telecom Corporation (AfTel)

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) in Afghanistan is seeking an investor to privatize 80% of the share capital of AfTel. AfTel was incorporated in September 2005 and operates throughout Afghanistan under a 25 year license. The company serves over 95,000 customers in 34 provincial capitals and 254 districts providing services in Telecommunication, high-speed internet (including wireless internet), and satellite dishes.
